Long Time, No Blog!

Hello there blog friends and customers! I'm so sorry it's been awhile since I've posted. Our precious Emily was born on August 19th and since that day, life has been all about her! I thought I'd be back designing in October, but that certainly isn't the way it has turned out. Due to working full time and taking care of my sweet girl the rest of the time, I have decided to close up shop indefinitely. It's possible that I may begin designing again in the summer, but at this point, I am leaning more towards a business of custom decor, clothing, and accessories for families and children. The one exception is that I will continue updating photographs on blog designs through the end of August. I truly appreciate all of your business throughout the past several years and am excited about the next phase of my business once the school year is over. I will keep you all posted!

Hi Friends! I'm still on maternity leave and will be posting more about that later. I wanted to be sure to tell you, though, about Tiny Prints holiday cards. Maternity Leave

Just wanted to let you know that I am going to be on maternity leave at least through the end of October. During this time, I will not be taking any new clients. If you are a current client and you need an update or even a new design, email me and we will work something out.

When Miss Emily makes her arrival, we will post pictures! It's going to be very soon!

Here are a couple new designs. The design in the middle is for a preschool in Kansas. Their director had the brilliant idea to do matching blogs for all of the classes, changing out the words only. I also colorized their existing black and white logo, which you see at the bottom.

The Prize
The winner will receive either one DELUXE blog design or one custom name painting.

How to Enter
You have four possible ways to enter and can have up to four entries.

Usually I only share blog designs on here, but I thought I'd share with you some pictures of a painting I recently did. This is a 10"x 20" acrylic on canvas custom name painting. Grayer is my cousin's baby who will be making his grand entrance in September. This painting was done to coordinate with his bedding and I was REALLY happy with how it turned out...especially for my first time! If you're interested in ordering something like this, contact me and we can work something out. Since I'm still learning, I'd love to have some guinea pigs to practice on.

I've done a bit of a re-vamp of the PAD website. It's not too different as far as the layout goes, but I've changed a few things around. It was time for a new, even more efficient site! You'll even find a "wait list" link so you can check and see where you are in the design line-up.

Lucas and I will be at all of the weekend activities at the Farmer's Branch Campus. They're having an Easter egg hunt as well as a cookout tonight at 5:00, then an outdoor service as 7:00. We're in the worship band, so we'll be helping to lead worship at the Saturday outdoor service as well as the two services in the FLC tomorrow morning. If you live further north, we have a Lewisville/Carrollton campus that's having the same activities. I really hope to see you there, but more than that I hope that you have somewhere to worship the risen Lord this weekend!

Life has been so crazy lately. I had a horrible week at school last week and then we entertained my husband's grandparents and sister & bro-in-law for a long weekend. It was good, but I haven't had ANY downtime. So, in the past week I've only managed to get these two done. Thanks for your patience if you're waiting for me to get with you. Good morning on this BEAUTIFUL first day of Spring Break! It's days like this that I really just love being a teacher! Since I've got a little extra time on my hands, I decided to put it to good use and learn some new blog design techniques. This weekend, I worked on these two blogs and I'm so excited to present them to you! The first is my personal blog and the second is one I did for a client. Sorry I haven't posted much lately. You won't believe this, I'm sure, but I've just been so busy! I wonder what a non-busy life would be like. I think it would be glorious! Thanks to everyone who has been so patient waiting for me to get back with them. I have a pretty good waiting list going right now and I'm getting things done as fast as I can! The next month is going to fly by. We have Open House at school, Spring Break, and then my bestie Kim is getting married! I can't wait!

In fact, I've been so busy during the month of February that I didn't even get the chance to celebrate Pink Armchair Designs' first birthday! Once I get caught up with things, we'll have a belated birthday party and I'll be doing some more giveaways!

Things have been a little crazy around here lately, so if you're waiting for me to contact you about getting started on your blog design, here's why I haven't.

Meet Maggie Mae, born December 18th, 2008 in South Dakota. My husband surprised me with her for my Valentine's Day gift! She hopped a jet and flew down here on Friday, February 13th. Not even kidding!

So, in the midst of playing with this cute baby and trying to potty train her, along with everything else you have to deal with when you've got a puppy, I just haven't had much design time. I'm back in the swing of things, though, so I'll be contacting you soon! Thanks for your patience!

Our San Diego vacation was incredible. If you haven't been there, I highly recommend it! The weather was perfect, the views were amazing, and the atmosphere was perfect for relaxing. Does anything beat waking up to an ocean view? I don't think we could've asked for a better trip. Tomorrow, I'll be posting highlights and pictures from the trip over here.

It's beginning to look alot like Christmas at Pink Armchair Designs! These are the six standard designs I will be offering for $15, which includes installation. The words can be changed to whatever you'd like and if you choose a picture layout, one picture may be inserted. If you'd like a custom Christmas design, those are available for my regular prices.

Each of these designs are also available as a Christmas card for $15. Or, if you buy a blog design and would like the Christmas card design as well, you have have them both for $20. I will not print the cards, but I will send you the design and you can have them printed or I can hook you up with a printer that I've used before.

Hi friends! I feel like it's been forever since I've blogged over here. Things have been moving right along, and I cannot WAIT for Thanksgiving break. I seriously need it. I've got bronchitis right now, which is no fun, but does give me a bit more time to design. :)

If you've visited my blog in the past week or so, you probably saw the below message about me not accepting new clients. And if you know me at all, you know that I love designing blogs. I feel like I'm finally starting to get caught up! I've done four designs in the last two days and right now I'm just waiting on payment to start a couple more. If you're interested in a design, my wait right now is back down to about 2-3 weeks from the time you place the order. In other news, I just saw a ranking of the top 100 high school football teams in the country. Our neighborhood school, Trinity High School, is ranked #1! Go Trojans! Of course, my allegiance will always be to Irving High (my high school) but they're not quite in the top 100. Or even the top 1,000. But I love them anyway! My cousin Brian is the head coach at Hebron High School, another great team, so we love them as well. I just love football season!

Thanks so much to everyone who has an order in and is being so patient! The first week of kindergarten was a success, and we're about to kick off week number two. In the midst of school starting, our internet going out, getting our house all ready for the in-law visit, and said visit, I still found time to do two designs. I have a REALLY long waiting list right now, but I'm doing my best to crank them out as quickly as possible. I've been so blessed with the growth of my business this summer. It's going to be interesting to see how I balance school, designing, husband, taking care of myself, and spending time with the Lord! Pray for me! :)

Are you a wordpress blogger? I've had several people email me lately inquiring about wordpress. While I mostly do designs for blogspot blogs, I can work with wordpress, as well. Click below to see an example of a wordpress blog that has been "Pinked!"

It's late Monday night (actually Tuesday morning,) and two weeks from now I'll be fast asleep in preparation for the second day of kindergarten. It's just crazy how the summers fly by...especially when you're as busy as I've been! Pink Armchair Designs has been such a blessing in my life the past few months. I have been introduced to so many wonderful people who I never would've known otherwise and I've also been reconnected with old friends.

One of those old friends is Keisha. We went to school together for many years, but as often happens, we didn't keep up with each other after high school graduation. We got back in touch via Facebook a couple years ago, and this past March I found out that Keisha was diagnosed with Hodgkins Lymphoma. She started a blog to keep everyone up to date on what was going on with her, and if you haven't read it, I encourage you to click on it NOW! Her faith is amazing and she has been such an encouragement to me just through her writing. I did a design for her at the beginning of her journey, and decided it was time for an updated look because...

Keisha's cancer is in REMISSION! Hallelujah! I designed her a new blog to celebrate this awesome news. I did the two designs below and let her pick which one she wanted. You'll have to click below to find out which one she chose!

I did this design for a girl who found me through another old school friend. I went to junior high and high school with her husband, as well. They are a CUTE couple!

We've been out of town for the past several days for my sister-in-law's wedding. We had basically no internet access and I pretty much went into withdrawal. Isn't that sad? How do you like my makeover? I spend so much time designing everyone else's blogs that I rarely get a makeover myself. I wanted to go for something a little more minimal, and I really love it!

I also wanted to point you in the direction of the new tab on the side, logo design! I'm really excited to introduce to you our new logo designer, Kim. She is one of my best friends, my former roommate, and a professional graphic designer! She's been working for a graphic design company in Dallas for the past five years, and she's really good at what she does. Her prices are incredible, so if you're looking for a logo design for anything, check her out!

The above design was done for Lindsay, who is about to move to England for six months. She sent me a picture of a design she'd seen and wanted me to re-create it in a new way. I took some of the elements from that design to create her something funky and very Euro-chic...or at least we think so!

I hope that everyone had a great holiday weekend! We were busy celebrating with family and friends. We even got to see a few rogue fireworks from our swimming pool. As much as I love this holiday, it's bittersweet, because it kind of marks the middle of summer. Why can't it be the beginning of June all year long? I just want to lay by the pool and design blogs all the time. But alas, I cannot. I have a training this afternoon for our new math curriculum which reminds me that school is just around the corner. Hi friends! I'm back from my girls trip and it was fabulous! My mom and I shopped and shopped and ate and ate. It was good for the soul, not so good for the waistline or wallet. But hey, we walked all day long, so that should count for something! Thanks for giving me a few days off. I LOVE both of these blog designs! I think the top one is SO much fun! I've been waiting for someone to come along and choose this design kit and I'm so glad Liz did! It has so many fun elements. This has been a crazy week! I always thought things were supposed to slow down during the summer, but I guess the opposite is true here at Pink Armchair Designs! Sunday night my hard drive crashed and I lost EVERYTHING. It was horrid. The good news is that a get a new laptop out of it! My new pink Dell will be arriving mid-July. Of course I'll take some pictures when she gets here (unfortunately I won't have any other pictures on my computer since they're all gone.) The bad news is that I have to pay for the laptop. Ugh.

I want to give a HUGE things to Kim at The Digichick and to Krista and Designs by Krista. These incredible ladies had mercy on me and let me re-download all the kits I had for FREE! This would've been very costly if I'd had to buy them all again, so I am forever grateful. After re-downloading I spent the majority of Monday getting everything in order and I've been working hard since then trying to get caught up on orders.

Here are a few designs I've done this week. I have several more ready to be installed, so I'll post those once they're up and running! One thing I love about doing custom design is that it's all about the blogger! All my designs aren't necessarily things I'd choose, but whatever the blogger wants, I do. This week has been crazy busy so far! It almost doesn't even feel like summer...except for that whole sleeping in, swimming, and not dealing with 5 year-olds thing. So maybe it feels like summer after all. :) I'm seeing SATC tonight, and I'm SO excited. I can't wait to see what's happened to my girls!

I just finished installing this fun design for Melanie, one of my friends from the college days. We met our freshman year and ended our time at ACU together interning at Highland Church of Christ. Melanie got married to Matt a couple months before Lucas and I, and is now living the life of an Air Force wife. She's one of the first to order my "Deluxe Package" for blog design. Good morning! I've made a few changes to Pink Armchair Designs for the upcoming season. Instead of the basic package I was offering, I am now offering three different packages to better meet the needs of each individual blogger! I am now offering three-column designs as well as sidebar buttons. Click here or take a look at the "Pricing" tab to see the new packages.

Also, I've decided to change my terms of payment. Instead of paying after approval of your blog design, I will now be requiring payment at the time I begin your design. Please understand that this is because I put much time and effort into each blog and need to be paid in a timely manner. I will continue to operate in the same way I did before in regards to proofs- you will view your proof and submit any changes you would like made. 90% of the time, my clients require no changes at all, and when they do ask for a change it is usually something minor like a font or something small added/taken off. I will make the changes necessary for you to be happy with your design! Remember that the more details you give me when ordering, the more I understand exactly what you're wanting!
